American innovation meets North Dakota grit with this energy dense, CAN bus compatible version of our 12V 100Ah deep cycle battery. Built for engineers seeking a hard wired communication method between the battery and onboard electronics, this battery includes a waterproof CAN bus pig tail for easy installation. Engineered with Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) technology this battery has twice the power, half the weight, and lasts 5 times longer than a sealed lead acid battery – providing exceptional lifetime value. 100 Amp hours of capacity provides a full day of power for high amp draw trolling motors or for long days on the open road in your RV. Ideal for deep cycle applications like trolling motors, solar energy storage, or boating, where you need lots of power for a long time. This is a re-engineered version of our classic 12V 100Ah battery with the same performance and reliability in a battery that is 25% more compact and 25% lighter. All backed up by a best in class 11 year warranty. LiFePO4 charger included. 7 pin CAN plug with hardware included. Dakota Lithium’s CAN bus protocols are open source and industry standard.
Specifications
100 Ampere hours (Ah). Dakota Lithium batteries provide consistent power for all 100 Amp hours. DL LiFePO4 batteries have a flat voltage curve, which means they have a steady power output as the battery discharges. The power output will not dramatically drop like similar sized SLA batteries. You get all the juice down to the last drop.
12.8V (Dakota Lithium 12V batteries can be used in series for up to 48V systems)
1280 Watt-hours (Wh)
M8 Terminals with marine & automotive grade terminal covers. (Max torque 15 ft. lbs.)
10.23"L x 6.60"W x 8.66"H (260mm x 169mm x 215mm) (220mm to top of terminal) Group 24 equivalent.
27.55 lbs (12.5Kg). That's 60% lighter than a SLA battery.
BCI Group Number 24 & Group 24 equivalent / compatible for physical dimensions (L x W x H) & terminal location. Usable deep cycle capacity is much higher (2x) than a lead-acid battery of the same group size. Deep cycle only. Not for starting engines.
Up to 80% capacity for 5,000 cycles in recommended conditions. The typical SLA has 500 cycles. Dakota Lithium batteries last so long that the price per use is a fraction of traditional batteries.
Ideal for rugged & harsh environments. Much better than SLA or other lithium’s. -20°F min, +120°F max optimal operating temps (battery performs well down to -20°F). Avoid charging below 32°F.
100A max continuous, 200A max pulse 10 second pulse. The flat discharge voltage curve provides a 75% bigger capacity than a 100Ah SLA battery.
50A max, 14.4V recommended, 14.6V max. Included is a LiFePO4 compatible charger. A SLA charger may work, but will reduce performance and lifespan of the battery.
Contains a circuit that handles cell balancing, low voltage cutoff, high voltage cutoff, short circuit protection and high temperature protection for increased performance and longer life.
All batteries are UN38 certified. Dakota Lithium's cells are UL1642 certified and have been tested per IEC62133 standards. Meets all US & International regulations for air, ground, train, & marine transport.
UL 2054 certified and RVIA compliant - Recreational Vehicle Industry of America
Dakota Lithium is ISO Certified per 9001:2015 standards, and select models are produced in ISO 14001 certified facilities.
12V 10A LiFePO4 charger included. Dakota Lithium 12V batteries should be charged at 14.4 volts, higher than AGM or lead acid. Lead acid chargers will work, but will only charge the battery to 80% of capacity.
R485/CAN bus data communication port. CAN bus communication port and compatibility for connecting to marine, off grid, and automotive electronics. 7 pin CAN plug with hardware included.
Control the terminals of your pack externally, or remotely. Two analog control pins allow you to connect either or both to a (third) power pin to disable charging or discharging. Independent Charge/Discharge shut offs can be triggered by an external switch or logic controller. Shut off only the charging function, or only the discharging function, or both, and re-activate them at will. Useful in larger automated systems or local smart-grid projects.

FAQ
Will cold weather affect my battery?
Your Dakota Lithium battery will discharge normally between a range of -20F and 120F (-29C to 49C). DL batteries are commonly used among ice fishers for their flashers and ice augers, so they are quite resilient and are frequently used in cold climates. In cases of extreme cold however, it is recommended that the batteries be insulated. We also do not recommend charging our batteries below freezing temperatures. If you are planning to regularly charge your battery below freezing temperatures we recommend the DL+ 12V 135Ah battery which has an internal heating element and is optimal for use in cars, trucks, RVs, off grid solar, and any application where the battery will be charged regularly in extremely cold environments (like a North Dakota winter).
Is this battery certified?
Dakota Lithium's cells are UL1642 certified and have been tested per IEC62133 and UN 38.3 standards. They meet all US and international regulations for air, ground, and train transport. Dakota Lithium is ISO Certified per 9001:2015 standards, and select models are produced in ISO 14001 certified facilities.
